This scholarship was established to encourage enrollment in LPN or RN nursing programs. Pre-nursing students are not eligible for this scholarship. Recipients sign a promissory note with the State of Kansas agreeing to practice nursing for one year for each year of scholarship support. If a recipient cannot fulfill the service obligation to the state, they will be subject to repaying the scholarship amount. Interest will be added to the total at a rate of 5%.
You must be admitted to a Kansas nursing program, enrolled full-time, and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the Kansas Student Aid Application. The award is $4,000 for Practical Nursing and $5,000 for Associate Degree Nursing. A higher scholarship amount is available to students with an eligible sponsor in a rural opportunity zone.
